Private The Grampians Hiking Tour from Melbourne

Take a day trip from Melbourne to experience the natural wonders of the Grampians National Park. A geological playground for hikers, rock climbers and wildlife, the Grampians offer second to none views over the the park and western plains of Victoria and is home to the spectacular Mackenzie Falls. We showcase the region known as Gariwerd by the local Indigenous people. A spectacular series of rugged mountain ranges to the west of Melbourne. Home to an abundance of kangaroos, wallabies and other native animals and rich in natural wonders with stunning waterfalls and panoramic mountain views. This Grampians tour includes short walks to some of our favourite spots and includes a visit to the award-winning Brambuk the National Park & Cultural Centre for an insight into the history of the people, the landscape and the wildlife that make up this region.

We embark on our first hike of the day, a moderate 4.2km return hike that weaves us through fascinating rock formations, including the Grand Canyon and Silent Street before we arrive at The Pinnacle, the most iconic destination in the park. This famous jagged cliff face is quite the sight and there will be plenty of time to capture some amazing photos. Once we return, we will stop for a delicious cafe or bakery lunch before the drive up to MacKenzie Falls. This small walk is a steep 2km trail but you will be rewarded with one of Victoria’s largest and most beautiful waterfalls. Feel free to dip your toes in the icy mountain water to refresh your feet. Our next stop is the picturesque Boroka Lookout where you will be able to experience stunning views of Halls Gap, Lake Bellfield and Mt. William mountain ranges. We return to the delightful local village of Halls Gap where we will reveal one of the local kangaroo’s favourite hangout spots before making the journey back to Melbourne.

This short 2km walk is a steep trail, but we promise the incredible views of Victoria’s largest and most beautiful waterfall is 100% worth it. Our next stop is the picturesque Boroka Lookout. Take in vistas of Lake Bellfield and Mt William mountain ranges before we return to the delightful local village of Halls Gap for optional ice cream. We stick around long enough to meet some of the local kangaroos before making the journey back to Melbourne.

The next morning you will explore the Grampians National Park seeing the sweeping mountainous views & waterfalls before leaving regional Victoria to head over to South Australia Adelaide by 8:00pm.

Your tour departs Melbourne bright and early with our sights set on beating the crowds at the Great Ocean Roads' famous 12 Apostles. Here we enjoy a 1km stroll along the boardwalk while appreciating the limestone stacks and stunning views. Our next stop, Gibson Steps, offers a unique 70m cliffside pathway down to the beach. Enjoy this beautiful beach and take all the time you need to get the perfect shot. Next up, it’s time for a delicious lunch before heading to the Great Otway National Park. Enjoy a short but magical hike through ancient rainforests of thick ferns and large myrtle beech to see one of the Otways' pristine waterfalls (where the bigger bus companies don’t visit). We visit the giants of the forest at the Californian Redwoods before continuing our drive along the Great Ocean Road to the tranquil village of Apollo Bay and Kennett River; home to native koalas, king parrots and kangaroos. This is a private LGBTQ+ tour experience. Visit some of Victoria lesser know, but equally as beautiful areas. From the 'Gay Capital' of Australia - Daylesford, discover some its hidden charms, colourful locals and diverse shops and restaurants. The tour highlight is Grampians National Park. Whilst similar to that of the Blue Mountains in Sydney, this National Park is often wrongly overlooked. It requires slightly more effort to reach, but once there, you will be glad of the effort. We will kangaroo's in the wild, experience local Aboriginal custom and visit some incredible lookouts, walking tracks and waterfalls. You really will be at one, with Mother Nature. En-route back to Melbourne on the final day, we will stop in at the historic town of Ballarat and visit some of its best loved visitor attractions.
