La Fortuna: Arenal Volcano Hike (The petrified Lava Trail)

We will start early morning visiting the famous Fortuna Waterfall, then we will head out to Arenal Volcano ecological park where we also walk through all the lava rock fields then we will refresh in the Tabacon Lagoon in the park, then after a delicious lunch we will finish in the natural hot springs river Tabacon.

Adventure yourself on the 1968 trails on the Arenal Volcano. While walking, you will have the opportunity to observe a variety of plants, wildlife, volcanic rock formations and Lake Arenal. This is a very historic walk since you will learn about the Colossus of Arenal which has a direct influence on the economy and local culture.

The tour begins at 8:00 AM— First we visit the Famous and stunning Fortuna Waterfall, hiking about 500 stairs and if you feel like go for a refreshing swim. Then will head out to the Arenal Volcano where you will hike for about 2 hours to the closest viewpoint and over the old lava fields, on the way down we will enjoy lunch and will go for a swim on the Tabacon green lagoon at the foot of the Volcano refreshing temperature. Next we will go to the Mistico Hanging bridges park, you will walk over 16 different bridges at the tree tops and amazing views. To finish, we will go to the Natural Hot springs River for about 1 hour to relax at the end of this entire day. Then we will drop you off in the place we picked you up or in town as you may prefer.

You'll love our fresh, amazing meal in one of La Fortuna's secret hangout at El Salto waterfall park. Finish the day at the stunning La Fortuna Waterfall. This is sure to be a good workout as there are 500 steps to get to the down and get back up! The length of the tour is approximately four hours; from La Fortuna we have to go 5 ½ kilometers to the southeast. We spend 1 ½ hours to get to the rest site of the horses. A beautiful example of the Costa Rican country site will be found along the way, cattle farms and agriculture, also the chance to see some birds as oropendolas and tucans.
