Dog Sledding Adventure in Willow, Alaska

Enjoy a truly Alaskan experience in the famous North Pole Alaska on a 30 minute dog sledding adventure. This ride includes informative commentary from your local guide as you glide through the snow covered forest.  You will be seated in the dog sled as the team of Alaskan Huskies whisk you down the trails. Your guide will be standing on the back of the sled driving the team by voice commands. You will have a short stop during your adventure to meet your team of Alaskan Huskies and take pictures. All outer layers of winter clothing are included.

The most intimate summer dog sledding experience in Alaska! Our carts are specifically for dog mushing and seat just two people each for an authentic adventure. Your ride takes place on our own secluded, private training trails, surrounded by Alaska spruce and birch trees. These are the same trails we use to train for Iditarod in the winter! Our carts are 100% dog-powered, just like a sled, so you can take in the natural sounds around you, without any noisy motors or nearby traffic! After every run, we turn all the dogs loose to run around freely and interact with guests. Enjoy meeting and playing with our champion dogs in an open house-style tour, where questions are encouraged! Your visit also includes a tour of the kennel and a nature walk to our hand-built, wooden pavilion with a Denali view, for an interactive demonstration of our winter gear and race sled! In Willow, AK, you’ll experience a real Iditarod musher’s home kennel and learn all about the amazing and friendly canine athletes. Then go for an exhilarating overland dog sled ride powered by a team of authentic Alaska Huskies! Learn all about the sport of mushing, the world famous 1000 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race and its history, while getting to pet some friendly fluffy Alaska huskies; you’ll go for a dog-powered ride in a specially designed 2-person cart with your own personal musher. This 5+ hour (depending on group size) adventure will be one you won’t forget. Approximately 1.5 hour drive each way with 1.5 hours at the kennel.

Experience the wonders found in one of the Chugach State Park's fondest, glaciated valleys. On this tour, we will take you to the glorious Eagle River trail system where boreal forests, and salmon spawning streams are found. This trail network also hosts the renowned "Crow Pass", which is part of the historic Iditarod trail system once used by dog sleds and mushers. Afterwards, we meander over to iconic Barbara Falls, where you can hike right up to the base of the falls! Once we arrive, retired sled dogs greet you and dogs in their prime take you on Alaska’s winter trails, each having a special place on our team. After you’re outfitted for winter, we’ll share some tales from the trail around the campfire before we introduce you to the whole team, many have competed in the Iditarod multiple times. We invite you to be part of the adventure on one of our dog sled tours, beginning with giving the dogs love and attention before we head out on the trail. Once we’re on the trail, you can ride in a custom-made tour sled, or you can help your guide drive the sled!

Once your guide shows you the art of gold panning, you can test your luck to see what you can find. Then you will have time to take a self-guided nature hike next to beautiful waterfalls and dense Alaskan forest or browse the gift shop and relax in our saloon with a deck overlooking the picturesque stream.
