Follow a scenic route around the northwest coast, driving through the Ribeira da Janela valley, then arrive in Porto Moniz in time for lunch or a dip at a natural pool, before heading to Seixal, where the Véu da Noiva viewpoint offers impressive views over the surrounding cliffs and waterfalls. Returning to Funchal, stop to take photos from the Encumeada viewpoint, then drive through the UNESCO-listed landscapes of the Laurissilva forest.

A very special foot expedition for regular walkers! Starting at Paul da Serra and finishing in Fanal, this full-day breathtaking 7.15 mile (11.5km) walk is one of the few places in Madeira where you can see the Laurissilva vegetation at its best.

Travel in an open roof 4×4 to the southwest of Madeira. Taking the old roads your guide will show you the village Campanário with its overlooking terraces and cliffs. Continue up to Paúl da Serra at 1500 meters to see rocks formed by volcanoes and flattened by erosion. See the landscape marked by centuries of footsteps that peasants took, carrying and leading their animals and their products from one side of the Island to the other. Next stop on this tour will be Fonte do Bispo & Prazeres, where you admire incredibly deep and majestic beauty. Explore valleys covered by a layer of a dense green mantle that lead to the warmth of the southwest part of Madeira. Pass by Paul do Mar, Jardim do Mar – local fishing villages and visit waterfalls and banana plants.

Embark on this shore excursion and visit the best places at the NorthWest oF Madeira in a 4×4 vehicle with a open top roof. We will take you to the Western part of Madeira passing thru deep valleys, taking you up to 1500 meters high. You will get information and history about the views, native forest, fauna flora, meet the madeiran water aqueducts "levadas" and learn more about them. Please bring some comfortable shoes as we may have a 15 minutes walk to learn more about the "levadas". We will pass the Madeira plateau, the only flat area in this island, and then drive to Porto Moniz where you will visit the vulcanic lava pools. If the weather slows, you can swim at the volcanic polls. The lunch is optional, and has a cost of €12.00 per person for a 3 meal course with beverage and coffee. On the way back, you will have stunning views cliff's and waterfalls, and we will have a stop where you can try our famous "nectar" poncha, one of our local drinks.

Direct to Ponta do Sol, avoiding the crowds at Ribeira Brava, for the morning coffee stop and south coast views. Old roads only the Land Rover can deal with, ascending through the rural areas of Ponta do Sol. 45 minute off-road track to Paul da Serra, the largest Plateau of the island, 1494m above sea level! Descending towards the North side of the island to Ribeira da Janela with large landscape views of the protected UNESCO forest Next, we will have lunch at one of our partner restaurants. (optional extra, not included in price and highly recommended) After a walk around the village of Porto Moniz, we head South through the village of Seixal (rock pools, swimming) Through Sao Vicente and Serra de Agua (poncha) And finally ending at the Cabo Girao glass bottom viewpoint

At the end of this walk, we will find Lagoa da Dª Beja, a specacular lagoon surrounder by rocks and lushfull vegetation. A walk unlike any other. Most of our guests believe it to be the best. This 2 day full east and west + 1 half day Curral das Freiras tours package gives you an overview of the island at an affordable price. This package starts at different days and different times. In advance you will be contacted to schedule the package with you. Pickups will be made at hotels located in Funchal and Caniço at no extra cost. It is possible that minor delays may occur due to traffic. During the excursions the driver gives historical and cultural information of the places to visit, making some short stops on the way for the visitor to be able to contemplate the beautiful sights and monuments taking some pictures. Meals are not included in the price, but we make a 90-minute midday stop for lunch. We're back at the hotel at 16:30 / 17:00 December 25th and January 1st we do not do excursions. We work with qualified and experienced people in tourism.
