Our 2-hour city tour by coach will start at the cruise terminal (Pirbadet). We will head to Solsiden, a charming and vibrant district and we will see the colorful warehouses along the river Nid. Our tour will continue through the city center while passing the Hotel Britannia and the royal residence Stiftsgården. Leaving the city center, we will proceed uphill to the Sverresli viewpoint to enjoy Trondheim from above and witness the city’s charming skyline. We will make another stop at Kristiansten Fortress. After the devastating fire in 1681, the fortress was built in order to defend Trondheim. We continue on to our final stop, Nidaros Cathedral (Nidarosdomen). The cathedral was built in the 11th century. Additional work and renovations have continued since then. It is one of Scandinavia’s most stunning and grandiose cathedrals as well as the best well-preserved Gothic building in Northern Europe. Trondheim and Norway as a whole are very proud of this magnificent building.

This tour covers many of the must-see attractions of the city center: Walk the ramparts of the fortress which has protected the city since the beginning of the 1300s, and since then has been the scene of many events in Norwegian history. The fortress has been a castle, a prison and a warehouse and is now host to 3 museums. See Kristiania Torg, which used to be the heart and soul of the city. Keiservarden is a real classic for the people of Bodø. This mountain plateau is Bodø’s most visited hiking destination and is renowned for the wonderful views of the city, sea and the Lofoten islands. Keiservarden is one of the best places to experience the Midnight Sun. Keiservarden is the number one hiking destination for many in Bodø. Keiservarden is 366 m above sea level and climbing to the summit is not a very demanding hike. The view from the top – you might be able to see the silhouette of the Lofoten, the islands of Værøy and Røst (the two outermost islands in Lofoten). To the east you will see the many peaks of the spectacular Børvasstind mountain range and the mountains near the Swedish border. Stone stairs – several alternative routes lead to the top. In 2016 Sherpas from Nepal built stone stairs along our route, which saves the terrain from wear.
